German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Oslow is a very handsome 14 week-old boy puppy who was rescued from a reservation in South Dakota.

Oslow "Ozzy" is a loving and playful young puppy who is full of personality. He is a fast-learner and always eager to please. He knows his name, how to sit, and to come when called. He is doing very well with potty-training and will go to the door when he needs to go outside. With frequent potty breaks and supervision he hasn't had any accidents inside. Ozzy has learned to sleep quietly in his crate overnight and is working on kennel training during the day. He is a medium energy dog who loves to play with his foster siblings equally as much as snuggle with his foster parents. Ozzy loves chew toys and anything that squeaks. He is a fearless pup who wants to spend as much time with his humans as possible. If you're looking for a confident, smart, handsome puppy who you can tackle the world with, then Ozzy is your boy!

Like all German Shepherd and German Shepherd mix puppies, Ozzy will need training, consistency, boundaries, and lots of activity and socialization, in order to become a well-balanced, well-behaved dog.
