German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Jameson is an adorable 11 week-old boy puppy who born in rescue with HUGS. When Jameson's mom, Ziva arrived into rescue with us, little did we know that she would be heavily pregnant, as no one on the reservation had noticed it. Our vet confirmed it with an ultrasound the next day, and only a few days later, Ziva delivered a litter of adorable babies! They were born 3-14-17 so they became our "Saint Patrick's Litter"! 

Jameson is a very energetic boy! He is very interested in everything! He loves to play and run around but is always excited to give kisses and snuggles.

We are glad that Ziva came into rescue when she did. Reservation dogs lead a very hard life, with no shelter, little food, and no vet care. Many of them die on the Reservation due to accidents, deprivation, and/or sickness among other causes. Ziva and her pups truly share the luck of the Irish ;). She made it into rescue only days before delivering and they are now all thriving and ready for their forever homes!

Like all German Shepherd and German Shepherd mix puppies, Jameson will need training, consistency, boundaries, and lots of activity and socialization, in order to become a well-balanced, well-behaved dog.
