German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Sweet Tyson was rescued from a SD reservation as a tiny puppy with 3 siblings (the Tropic Litter). He was adopted out as a puppy.  Unfortunately, and through no fault of his own, Tyson had to come back to rescue due to his owner's severe health issues. We are glad that we could be here for Tyson when he needed us again. He is just as sweet as he ever was. He was happy to back in his old foster home and he is very hopeful that this time he will find his forever home!

Tyson is a very sweet and loving dog. He is extremely snuggly and thinks he is a lap dog. Tyson is great with the baby in his foster home: he loves to lay next to her and watch her. He is a little timid at first, but once he warms up to you, he is very affectionate and loving, and he becomes your little shadow! 

He is crate-trained, potty-trained, walks well on a leash and enjoys going for walks. Although Tyson is well-behaved and gentle,  he sometimes forgets how big he is and bumps into things: he's still a big puppy! Tyson is great with dogs of all sizes. He loves to play tug-o-war with the household dog and could do that all day long! He also does a great job entertaining himself by chewing on his big antler. He's a really sweet dog and a snuggle bug! 

Tyson's adoption fee is $325, all of which goes back into offseting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (treated if positive), and microchipped.
