German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Kinsgley James (aka Miracle dog Panda) is a gorgeous, young long-coated pup. This sweet, gentle giant was dumped at a high-kill shelter in California in terrible condition: his coat was filthy, dull and matted, he had ear infections, and the fur on a large area of his lower back had to be shaved to tend to a skin infection of some kind. Due to these issues, this poor, handsome, gentle guy was placed in a non-visible area of the shelter. Thankfully, we were able to pull him from danger with the assistance of our friends at Miracle GSD Network!

Kingsley James was clearly an outdoor, neglected dog prior to rescue. But this sweet boy is a quick learner, and he is adjusting quickly to the life of an indoor, family pet. He hasn't mastered going stairs yet, but it's only a matter of time! He is a very sweet, gentle, friendly boy who loves his walks, cuddling with foster mom, and getting attention from his human friends and admirers. Indeed, this huge, gorgeous boy is a stunner who stops traffic with his size, looks, and wonderful personality!
