German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Kitty is a very sweet, loving, petite, approx 2 y.o. girl, who was recently found abandoned at a condemned property. Apparently, when the people that used to live there left, they left Kitty and several other pets behind, to fend for themselves :(.

Kitty was very timid, scared, and unsure of things, when she arrived. Thanks to her wonderful foster home, Kitty is now thriving and coming out of her shell more and more every day! Kitty is now a super sweet, affectionate girl who gives kisses, has learned to play with toys, enjoys spending time with her humans and the other dog in her household. She loves getting midday visits from her petsitter. She absolutely loves to cuddle on people's laps. Foster mom jokes that Kitty won't let her do the laundry because she will lay on the pile, belly up, and ask for attention! Kitty is becoming a playful, fun, sweet girl who is good with kids, other dogs, and is simply delightful.

Kitty is a true gem who will delight the very lucky family that make her theirs!
