German Shepherd dogs, as well as the other herding breeds that we have in rescue, are highly active, energetic, working breeds. They require considerable vetting, exercise, socialization, training, leadership and mental stimuli in order to be well-adjusted, well-balanced, and well-mannered dogs. Even if you exercise and play with your dog daily in your fenced yard, you MUST still take your dog out on daily walks and outings in order to work on his/her leash skills, manners, and social skills. These breeds make great additions to active families who will pamper them, but who will also work with them, as they are smart dogs who need leadership, structure, plenty of activity and mental stimulation.

Cola is an adorable 10-week old puppy who was rescued from a reservation in SD. He arrived very sick with Parvo and had to be treated for several days, as he fought for his life. He is now fully recovered and ready for his furever home!

Cola is a very friendly pup who loves people and other dogs. He is fantastic with kids - he loves hanging out with his foster's 4 yr. old grandson but especially loves their 5 month old grandbaby. Cola is super gentle and prefers laying right by the baby, which is adorable! Cola is great with other dogs and especially loves wrestling with another pup. Yet, he can be very respecful of senior dogs who like their space.

Cola sleeps through the night, is progressing with his potty-training. He plays hard and sleeps hard. His favorite thing to do is curl up on a doggy bed with an antler or Nylabone and go at it! He enjoys an occasional game of tug of war with his foster siblings. Cola does enjoy being outside. He loves romping around and is in no hurry to come back in the house, even when the other pups have ditched him for the comforts of the house. 

Cola is a delightful little pup, full of life and enthusiasm. He loves playing, running around in the yard & napping with his foster siblings. He's a little puppy who's not afraid of anything and who can easily keep up with the bigger dogs in his foster home. Cola's fur is super soft and he loves belly rubs!

Like all German Shepherd and German Shepherd mix puppies, Cola will need training, consistency, boundaries, and lots of activity and socialization, in order to become a well-balanced, well-behaved dog.
