Sienna is a very loving and playful gal. She loves everyone she meets and likes to make new friends whether it be humans, dogs, or cats. She likes to keep an eye on where her people are at all times and likes to be in the mix of it all. She is working on her manners a bit, as she doesn't know the concept of personal space very well yet. She is fully potty trained and hasn't had any accidents and prefers to potty in her own yard as she thinks walks are just for investigating the world. She is also working on her leash skills, she does really well until she sees a squirrel. She wants to chase every squirrel or small animal she sees and wants to check out every tree to see what is up there. She loves treats and her toys. However no toy is safe, she can shred a tennis ball in less than 2 minutes and even the ballistic fabric toys succumb quickly. Her antler and buffalo horn are the only things that can stand up to her strong chewing skills, but thankfully she knows which toys are hers and hasn't needed much correction there. She has settled into her foster home very well and is very spoiled already. She lets her foster family know when she needs her belly rubbed or just needs some loves. She will go to her kennel for a nap when she is worn down. Sienna came to us heartworm positive, but completed her treatment and is now ready for her forever home.
Sienna's adoption fee is $275, all of which goes back into offsetting our high-cost vetting expenses and rescuing more dogs. Adoption fees include spay/neuter, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm preventative, heartworm tested if old enough (treated if positive), and microchipped. Please visit http://heartlandgsrescue.rescuegroups.org/info/adoption for more information about our adoption process and requirements, and to apply.

Why are Sponsorships & Donations so important?
HUGS provides dog food, supplies, necessary vet care (emergency, acute, routine), heartworm and flea/tick preventative to the HUGS foster dogs while they look for their forever homes. This can be quite costly and challenging in many ways. Additionally, some of the dogs that we rescue arrive sick or injured and require hospitalization, expensive surgery or long-term medications or other treatment. This places a huge strain on our vet fund, and can affect our ability to help future dogs.
Sadly, without sufficient funding to transport, vet/treat, feed the dogs that we take in, we could not continue saving them. As a volunteer group that runs solely on donations and adoptions fees, we truly need your support.
