HUGS will be at Capital Humane Society's Tails ‘N Trails Pet Walk & Festival in Lincoln, this Saturday, May 19th from 11:00am-2:30pm. The event will take place at the Fallbrook Town Center in beautiful Fallbrook. The day includes a half mile and a full mile walk (for those participating in the walk: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/932613/), live music from the Levi William Band, amazing food from the Motorfood & Muchachos food trucks, numerous vendors and rescue groups, activities for you and your canine friend, raffle items, a bounce house, a 50/50 raffle and more! There will be many activities for the pets attending, including the pupcake walk, bobbing for hot dogs, human vs. dog peanut butter licking contest, mutt mutt golf, and more! Everyone is welcome, with or without a pet. Be sure to stop by the HUGS booth to say Hi and to support our group!

Join us on Saturday, June 30th, at NE Realty (168th & Dodge St) from 11:30am-2:30pm! Donate at least $5/per person and enjoy a hamburger/hot dog (or vegan burger/dog) with all the fixin's (pasta or potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans), dessert and fruit salad. Your leashed dog is welcome at the event. We will have a couple of $1 games for the dogs, including bobbing for hot dogs, and an agility course, as well as a Patriotic Dog Costume contest! The humans will be able to buy tickets to play our ring toss game for prizes, and participate in a raffle. We will be set up on the patio, with parking available on the West side. Friday night, Timberwolf Products, a Lincoln custom woodworking company is celebrating their 15th year Anniversary! There will be pint glasses for sale and a raffle for custom furniture. Proceeds are generously being donated to 2 rescue groups, one of them being Heartland German Shepherd Rescue (HUGS)! There will be drink specials for anyone who buys a "Timberwolf Products" pint glass (60 available), and the FlyDogz food truck will be there from 6pm-8pm. This is a dog-friendly event, so come on down to support this awesome Lincoln merchant (who is the proud grandparent of 2 HUGS dogs!). Enjoy some delicious hot dogs, drink specials, check out some amazing custom woodwork, all while supporting the rescue dogs!

Join us at Barks N Brews (13730 P St, Omaha), Sunday September 8th, noon to 5pm. Barks and Brews features a dog-friendly bar area, as well as an indoor dog park. HUGS will be bartending, and our host is generously allowing us to keep all tips to help the rescue dogs! Barks & Brews requires proof of vaccination (Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Bordetella, and Lepto) for any dogs that might be attending, so be sure to bring that to the event. We hope to see you there!

*HUGS Adopters, Fosters, and other helpers* Just a reminder that our annual picnic is THIS SUNDAY! There will be a picnic-style cook out, an outdoor photobooth for you and your dog(s) courtesy of our friends from FotoFunSpot, and Lou will set up her Agility course so you and your pup can have fun trying it out! The annual picnic brings HUGS adopters, fosters, and all volunteers together for a fun event. It also allows fosters and volunteers an opportunity to see the HUGS dogs they have dedicated their time to helping. We love hosting this event and look forward to seeing you all there. On Saturday, Oct 19th, from 11am to 5pm, you can come see us at Waggin' Tailz Ranch for Halloween pictures! Bring your pets in costume or feel free to look through the costume bin and borrow an accessory (provided by Waggin'Tailz!). For $15, you will receive one high-resolution image (printable), and one low-resolution image (for web sharing), both by email. These are professional pictures taken by Em-Tee-Gee Photography. We will be set up in the spa area. All proceeds and donations go towards the HUGS rescue dogs and will allow us to save more lives! We hope to see you there!

Once again, HUGS will have a Giftwrap Booth at Westroads Mall (10000 California St, Omaha), starting on Black Friday and throughout the Holidays! The booth is located on the lower level, near JC Penney. Bring us your items, regardless of where you bought them. We will wrap them beautifully and you will be contributing to a great cause! Whether you have 1 special item, or your entire Holiday shopping, we will be glad to save you the work and make your gifts look AMAZING. We can handle all sizes and shapes. Everything is beautifully wrapped with ribbon bows and ornaments (no stick-on bows used!). We ask for a minimum donation based on package size, and as always, all proceeds will go towards helping us rescue more dogs! You can drop off and pick up later at your convenience, and we do special requests. The last week of Christmas is our busiest, so come see us earlier to skip the line! Book a family photo session (including your pups!) with Ninety Six Oak for MAY 3 and half of the session fee will be donated directly to Heartland German Shepherd Rescue - HUGS. With your support, we can make a big difference together. Let's fill all 8 sessions and the photographer, who is one of our adopters and has a huge heart for the dogs, will gift $1,000 to the rescue! If all 8 sessions fill up, she will open other times so the giving can continue! Ninety Six Oak is a professional photography team who takes stunning pictures. You get access to a downloadable online gallery and print release so you can print and share all the ones you love! The photo session is $250 (Molly is donating half of the proceeds to help us pay vet bills). This is a great opportunity for some fabulous pictures with your pets, while supporting the rescue dogs.
