HUGS will join other local rescues and vendors at Three Dog Bakery's annual Easter Begg Hunt at Turner Park (Midtown Crossing).

The Easter Egg Hunt begins promptly at 1pm. Be sure to arrive no later than 12:45pm to participate. There will be thousands of treat-filled Easter “Beggs,” some of which will include certificates for other prizes, for your pups. $5.00 registration fee per DOG benefits the Nebraska Humane Society. 

Come visit the HUGS booth before or after the Egg Hunt. Stop by to chat with our wonderful volunteers, meet the amazing HUGS dogs & puppies. Support your local German Shepherd group by donating at our table, and by purchasing our human and/or canine baked goodies. 100% of our booth proceeds go to the dogs we rescue!

This will be, weather permitting, our very first adoption event at Spikers Sports & Spirits, in Gretna. We are very excited to be there this Sunday at 1pm. Thank you, Spikers, for hosting the HUGS dogs and volunteers! Our gorgeous adoptable dogs will be there. Be sure to apply ahead at www.heartlandgsrescue.org, if you'd like to be pre-approved. Spikers serves great food and beverages. HUGS will be selling dog and people treats to raise money for the dogs.

Let it not be said that Shepherds don't like games :). Heartland German Shepherd Rescue - HUGS will join other local area rescues at this fun dog and kid-friendly event. Come meet our gorgeous adoptable dogs, say Hi to our awesome volunteers, and bring your pups for a fun afternoon of dog games, contests, kid games, food and other vendors, raffles and microchip clinic. We will have human and K9 goodies at our booth available for a donation. As always, all proceeds from our booth  go to the dogs we rescue. Your generous support allows us to save more dogs :).

Come support HUGS at our 1st annual volleyball tournament fundraiser to benefit the HUGS dogs! Register your team today at spikersvolleyball.com. Check in starts at 10am, with pool play at 10:30am, followed by tournament play. Not a player? Come cheer, socialize, and meet some of the HUGS dogs! Adult drinks and food will be available for purchase from Spikers. HUGS will hold a bake sale for humans and dogs! We will also have a raffle for 2 AMAZING baskets (a "dog" basket and a "human" basket), and an awesome handcrafted dog bed.

HUGS will be OUTSIDE Lucky Bucket this Saturday from 2pm-5pm. Stop by and visit with our volunteers, and meet some of our awesome adoptable dogs! We will be set up OUTSIDE in the street on the East side of the building. If you would like to partake in some of Lucky Bucket's delicious beverages, and you have a dog with you, be sure to bring an extra handler, as DOGS are NO LONGER ALLOWED INSIDE. The last couple of months have been tough due to some high-cost medical bills, including Jade's hospitalization, Blaidd's foot surgery & lengthy recovery, and Emry's femur fracture. We truly thank you for your support, as it is what allows to continue rescuing.

HUGS will be at Capital Humane Society's Tails ‘N Trails Pet Walk & Festival in Lincoln, this Saturday, May 19th from 11:00am-2:30pm. The event will take place at the Fallbrook Town Center in beautiful Fallbrook. The day includes a half mile and a full mile walk (for those participating in the walk: https://secure.qgiv.com/event/932613/), live music from the Levi William Band, amazing food from the Motorfood & Muchachos food trucks, numerous vendors and rescue groups, activities for you and your canine friend, raffle items, a bounce house, a 50/50 raffle and more! There will be many activities for the pets attending, including the pupcake walk, bobbing for hot dogs, human vs. dog peanut butter licking contest, mutt mutt golf, and more! Everyone is welcome, with or without a pet. Be sure to stop by the HUGS booth to say Hi and to support our group!

Join us on Saturday, June 30th, at NE Realty (168th & Dodge St) from 11:30am-2:30pm! Donate at least $5/per person and enjoy a hamburger/hot dog (or vegan burger/dog) with all the fixin's (pasta or potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans), dessert and fruit salad. Your leashed dog is welcome at the event. We will have a couple of $1 games for the dogs, including bobbing for hot dogs, and an agility course, as well as a Patriotic Dog Costume contest! The humans will be able to buy tickets to play our ring toss game for prizes, and participate in a raffle. We will be set up on the patio, with parking available on the West side. As always, all proceeds will benefit the HUGS dogs. We hope to see you there!
